modern school of thought

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut bibendum tortor sit amet ligula rutrum, at porta tortor convallis ...

Using objects found in magazines, Raphael's fresco, the school of thought was recreated to illustrate the theologies which modern society currently prescribes. The original is a depiction of different icons, symbols and an ode to the feats of the great minds that were revered at the time, while the current modification replaces those individuals with objects and commodities. The modified piece makes a point to bring attention to the capitalist goals that are in contrast to some of the humanistic ways of thinking. In modern Western society, human potential has become synonymous with a certain level of consumption.

Where it's been: The Donatello Prize, Florence, Italy. January 2023. Included in the CELEBRITY CONTEMPORARY MASTERS by curators Salvatore Russo and Francesco Russo.
